INSTRUCTOR: 

David C. Maturen, SR/WA:  Mr. Maturen’s Portage based real estate appraisal firm specializes in work for governmental agencies, conservancies and condemning authorities.  He holds a Michigan Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license and the SR/WA designation from the International Right of Way Association.  Prior to forming his own firm, he was employed as an appraiser in the Property Tax Division of the Michigan Department of Treasury and also held a Level III Michigan Assessor Certificate for over 40 years.  He is a former member and Chair of the Michigan State Board of Real Estate Appraisers and a past Chair of the International Right of Way Association Valuation Committee.  David is the recipient of the 2007 Frank C. Balfour Award from the IRWA.  He also serves on the Board of Trustees of The Appraisal Foundation, which is responsible for development of standards and qualifications for U.S. appraisers.  He is in his fourth term as a Kalamazoo County Commissioner and serves on several state and national committees involved in real estate and government issues.
