This provides an in-depth overview of the environmental considerations associated with real estate transactions and right of way projects. Participants will gain an understanding of environmental due diligence processes, including the legal and regulatory framework governing liability under statutes such as CERCLA, the All Appropriate Inquiry (AAI) Rule, and ASTM standards. The course explores the purpose, scope, and application of Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), including Phase I, II, and III investigations, and how these assessments identify potential contamination and associated risks. Through practical examples and applied discussion, participants will develop the knowledge needed to recognize environmental concerns, evaluate potential liabilities, and support informed decision-making in property acquisition and development.

  • New SR/WA: An intermediate elective course that can be applied towards the RWP certification or SR/WA designation.
  • Industry: An intermediate course that is required for the Generalist, Oil & Gas Pipeline and Electric & Utilities pathways for the SR/WA designation. It can also be applied towards the Transportation pathway for the RWP certification.
